How to Care for a Slate-Topped Patio Table

Slate is a durable stone that provides a natural looking tabletop surface for your outdoor patio area. The stone blends in well with other outdoor surroundings and endures wear and tear well. To keep the slate-topped patio table looking its best, incorporate a cleaning and care routine that prevents damage to the slate surface. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Rinse the slate table regularly with your garden hose to remove all loose dirt and debris. This works well in removing the day-to-day buildup that accumulates on the slate surface.

    2

Mix 2 cups of water with 1 squirt of dish soap in a spray bottle. Add in 1/4 cup of white vinegar if you have issues with water spots or lime buildup.

    3

Spray the cleaner over your slate patio table and wipe off with a damp cleaning rag.

    4

Spray on the solution and scrub away tougher residue with a wet nylon scrubbing pad. Don't use metal tools that could damage the slate.

    5

Wipe the table with a clean, damp rag to remove any remaining buildup and allow the slate to air dry.
