How to Set a Table for Easter

How to Set a Table for Easter

Easter is a fun occasion for families to celebrate spring and the new life that comes with it. For Christians, Easter is also a time to remember the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Many great Easter decorations can incorporate this theme as well. The key to any Easter table is color. Remember that during springtime, flowers are blooming all around you. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Place a tablecloth on the table, perhaps with a table runner. The tablecloth could simply be white to accent the table runner or any pastel color such as pastel blue, pastel pink or yellow. Choose a table runner with bright spring flowers, Easter eggs or baby animals. A religious table runner could say something like, "He is Risen!", with the words surrounded by flowers.

    2

Compose a centerpiece. A secular centerpiece could be a basket full of spring flowers or a vase filled with spring flowers with decorated plastic Easter eggs hanging from the flowers. A religious centerpiece could be a cross surrounded by a floral wreath with a white piece of fabric hanging from the cross or a resurrection garden complete with a little empty tomb and some spring flowers. When decorating a religious centerpiece, use lilies, as they are the established Christian flower of Easter.

    3

Set the table with your fine dishes and cloth napkins. For an added touch of spring, place a flower such as a tulip on each napkin.

    4

Tie pastel bows or hang pew flower pots from the chairs at the table to add one final spring accent.
